On our class trip to Scotland, we managed to improve our English speaking skills. We were supervised by Dr Nilges and Dr Pfeffer.

On Monday (29 January 2024), we arrived at Edinburgh Airport at 3.30pm. After everyone had picked up their luggage, we got to our hotel, the Holiday Inn Edinburgh Zoo, by bus. When everything was settled, we chose to have dinner. We went to the restaurant “The Bothy Murrayfield“. The food was delicious and the service was good. Once we got back to the hotel, some of us had a look at the gym. After that, we played card games for the rest of the evening, and the first day was over.

On Tuesday, we visited Edinburgh Castle at 10.30 am. We had a guided tour around the castle, which was very interesting and informative. It added to our English lessons where we had already talked about Scottish history and read the play “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare. After the tour we had a little bit of free time and then met at the “Camera Obscura and World of Illusions“, where we had fun with different optical illusions. When we got back to the hotel, we decided to eat at the on-site restaurant, which had a great menu and delicious food. After dinner, some of us went to the indoor pool and hotel sauna. (mehr …)
